Itinerary

Day 0: The arrival to Port Moresby and meeting of participiants in hotel.
Day 1: In the morning deparature for Goroka, accommodation, then Goroka sightseeing and collective dinner.
Days 2–5 : Festival Goroka. Festival belongs to the most beautiful world festivals. It takes place directly in the city centre on a large university stadium with stands protected against the sun. A mixture of sound and colors. A possibility to enter the playing field and talk to groups, or take photos. The Festivals take 3 – 4 days and they usually last from Thursday to Sunday. Possible faculative leave out for one day during the festivals and a visit of some native village.
Day 6: Morning or afternoon deparature for Port Moresby. Consequently deparature from Port Moresby for home.

or day 6: Possibility of starting facultative programs – 7 days Huli Land + Mudmans – USD 3,500.- (7 days = visit Huli Land and Mudmans too) We prefer for this facultative program 8–10 days and the price is USD 3,500.- too. the Sepik river – 10 days, USD 5,400.- including airtickets and charter.

Included in the price: Accommodation, airticket Port Moresby-Goroka and back, all transport, entrance fees to festival for all days , an English speaking guide with a very good knowledge of the local environment (all the time).

Excluded in the price: food and drinks, visa, eventually some extra fees for photographing and filming, eventual faculative trip to native village

Variation 2:

Day –5: Participants meet at Jakarta airport (Indonesia) in the late evening. Then depart to Papua.
Day –4: The rest of the participants join the group in Sentani (Jayapura) and they continue to Vanimo (Papua New Guinea).
Day –3 – 1: Arrangement of the necessary visas to enter Indonesia, sunbathing and swimming at a snow white beach in a pleasantly warm sea, eventually snorkel diving and a short trek to watch big vampire bats (Flying Foxes).

Day 1: A departure to Goroka, last participants arriving that day join the group. Moving into a hotel, Goroka sightseeing.
Day 2 – 6: Goroka festival belongs to the most beautiful world festivals. It takes place directly in the city centre on a large university stadium with stands protected against the sun. A mixture of sound and colors… A possibility to enter the playing field and talk to groups, or take photos…
Day 7: A departure back to Vanimo or Port Moresby.

Day +1: Crossing of the border back to Indonesia.
Day +2: Departure to Jakarta – participants who have connecting flights leave, the others spend the night in Jakarta and leave the following day (Day +3).

OPTIONALLY: A possibility to extend the stay for 7 days and visit tribes living on the Sepik river (manufacturers of beautiful wood-carvings and traditional masks), alternatively a visit to the Hagahaj tribe with a hired plane. The Hagahaj tribe was discovered in 1988, and lives in the mountains near Goroka – also 7 days.

The price includes: The flight ticket from the Papua province Indonesia to Papua New Guinea and back (i.e. flight from Jayapura – Sentani to Vanimo and back, and flight from Vanimo to Goroka and back), all accommodation in local mid-range quality hotels, inland transportation, entrance fees to the festival, and an English speaking guide with a very good knowledge of the local environment.

The price does not include: The flight ticket to Asia (Jakarta) and back, flight ticket Jakarta – Papua province Indonesia (Jayapura – Sentani) and back to Jakarta (we will make the booking upon request), food, entrance fees to other attractions apart from the festival, and possible fees for taking photos and filming. However, taking photos and filming should be included in the festival entrance fee. Transport to Goroka and back. The trip starts in Goroka and transportation to Goroka is possible to be ordered. The trip from Jayapura to Goroka is with a guide but it is not included in the price either.
